Your Experiences will help others deal with their arthritis pain.

This page is used to relate experiences sent in via the comments section of the site. I have corrected spelling and removed names of doctors.

My experience with arthritis have been mostly dealing with pain. I have seen several doctors over the past few years and most of them thought I was a "cry baby". Finally, I met a specialist who actually understands what I go through every day.

He put me on Oxycodone and started me on an exercise (water) program. This has really helped me out. I am also starting Enbrel so that the arthritis will not get worse.

Thanks for having this site. I feel better just telling you what happened to me.

My doctor said I had "frozen shoulder". I went to her several times and got shots. They only helped for a few days and then the problem came back. I then took pain killers and did some weight lifting and the pain really went away. Thanks Marcia Florida July 07

Dear David,

My doctor has just told me I have Fibromyalgia. He has suggested that I try a "natural" approach to healing. Have any others who read this tried anything? How has it worked out?

Tina July 07

David,

I just got back from Mexico. They have all kinds of drugs there that my doctor has never heard of. The people there also tell me that the drugs work. Can you please let me know what they use and does it work?

Thomas July 07

Note: Thomas. We have a lot of people who look at this site. If any of them respond to your question I will post it. Dave

My doctor has me on Enbrel one time a week. It costs a lot but seems to work. Margaret Aug 07

I have found that the NSAIDS can cause some bleeding. Has anyone else had this kind of problem?

Arnold Aug 12 I have bursitis in my right shoulder can anyone recommend anything that will reduce the pain. I have trouble sleeping at night.

Arnold--try acupuncture. Many people have reported help using this technique.

Betrex Aug 22

I am in a wheelchair and have trouble reaching items. What would you suggest.

Betrex-- interesting name-- anyway. Try a "Grabber" or "Reacher" that you can get at most major hardware stores.

Bobo September 14 I am taking a lot of NSAIDS and now having some stomach problems what should I do?

First, see your doctor right away. Second, try to get off that stuff. You will get a bleeding ulcer (like I had) and really suffer.

From Rita Oct 27 For at least 15 years I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis. It created a stiffness and pain in my ankles and shoulders. My Rheumatologist gave me Nsaids which ate a hole in my stomach. Then he put me on Prednisone, which gave me Diabetes. He had me on several other medicines. My blood showed the RA factor and inflammation. Finally three years ago I began to get weak and get low blood counts. They blamed the Rheumatoid. I kept complaining about terrible pain in my shoulder. Finally three years ago I collapsed. Yes, I had Rheumatoid, but I also had Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma which almost killed me. I had Indolent Marginal Splenic Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I had a huge spleen. They increased the Prednisone and gave me Rituxan. The Rituxan not only got rid of the cancer, but helped the Arthritis. My blood does not show an RA level anymore. Then last year the spleen enlarged again. They removed the spleen and the cancer went into remission. I also was told by a friend to take Acai juice, because it relieves inflammation. I take it everyday now and no arthritis medicine and I don't have any more pain and stiffness. At last relief. I just have to pray hard that the Non-Hodgkin's does not come back.

Rita, my prayer's are with you. It seems you are on the road to better days at this time. I have not heard of Acai but if it works take it!!
